Factual Investigation
CTP, workers compensation, public liability, and property damage matters. Field-based enquiries, scene attendance, and structured reporting.
Surveillance and factual investigation, conducted to evidentiary standard, across New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, and Victoria.
Watkin Investigations is the practice of Garth Watkin, a licensed private investigator based on the New South Wales–Victorian border. Garth brings over a decade of operational policing experience across regional and metropolitan postings to a focused investigative practice, specialising in factual investigation and surveillance for insurance, legal, and corporate clients.
The business operates across New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, and Victoria — from metropolitan engagements in Sydney, Canberra, and Melbourne through to factual work and surveillance across the Riverina, Murray, North East Victoria, and Goulburn Valley. Every engagement is approached with discretion, attention to evidentiary standards, and an understanding of the regulated environment in which clients operate.

Every investigation is conducted with the understanding that material may be tested in tribunal, court, or claims review. Documentation is rigorous, contemporaneous, and structured to withstand scrutiny.
Subjects, instructing parties, and matter details are treated as confidential by default. Engagements are scoped, conducted, and reported without public footprint.
Work is performed under current PI licensing, with conduct held to the standards of relevant state and territory legislation and the Australian Government Investigations Standards.
Briefings are honest, scope is agreed before work commences, and outcomes are reported as observed — including when results don't favour the instructing party.
Subcontract enquiries from licensed agencies welcome. Direct enquiries from insurers, legal practitioners, and corporate clients welcome.
